Local nursery wins top award 1 March 2006 Bupa’s Teddies Nursery in Crawley has been named ‘Best Nursery’ at Bupa’s annual SHINE awards, fighting off stiff competition from 35 other nurseries. The award recognises the achievements of all of the dedicated carers and the manager at the nursery over the past 12 months. Winners of the SHINE awards are nominated by a judging panel, taking into consideration comments from parents and colleagues. The nursery, which is on Worth Road in Pound Hill, was judged against a wide range of criteria including standards of management, care and education, as well as carers’ relationships and communication with parents. Louise Peek, nursery manager of Teddies Nursery, Crawley commented on the award: “Everyone at the nursery is over the moon to be presented with this award.
