Thirty Bupa staff donned their dungarees on Tuesday (4 September) as they helped out a local charity that offers learning and skills development opportunities to disabled children and adults. The team prepared and re-stained a surrounding fence within the horse arena at Spelthorne Farm, Surrey.
Spelthorne Farm was set up to provide facilities for local children and adults to get hands-on experience with regards to farming and working with animals. It is run as a charity for people with various disabilities and, in addition to the practical aspects, it aims to promote the therapeutic effects of being around animals. Horse riding is a particular favourite for visitors so freshening up the horse arena was a great project for the Bupa team.
This activity day forms part of Bupa's corporate social responsibility programme of initiatives which focuses on providing help and support to the local communities in which Bupa employees live and work.
