It's fun day time again for the Warrington special care baby unit!
9 September 2007
An exciting family fun day is taking place this weekend to raise money for The Warrington Special Care Baby Unit, at Woolston Community Primary School. Two stalls at the fete have been organised by Bupa employees. The money that each of the stalls raise will be matched by Bupa's Community Connections initiative.
The Warrington special care baby unit holds an annual fun day. This year employees from Bupa sales (within the health insurance department), in Salford have decided to help them along their way ensuring that double the amount of money can be raised from their stalls through an array of fun activities.
The baby care unit helps a number of children that are having health difficulties in the early stages of their lives and is a great support to the parents of the children. By raising the money the unit can improve the facilities and the surroundings for all that use it. Many of the parents' waking hours are spent at the unit, so it is a top priority that the unit is as comforting as possible for them while they go through some testing times.
The stalls at the fun day will include a tombola, as well as a kids section that will sell a variety of children's books and toys.
Several other activities prior to the event have also taken place in order to raise as much money as possible for the unit. These have included a "guess the weight of the baby competition", a tuck-shop and a raffle for a number of exciting experience days.
Let's hope that with the help of Bupa employees this year's fun day will exceed last year's fundraising efforts!
