Oh what a knees up! Bupa Bushey surgery trio join up in Eilat
10 April 2007
Where does one go to recuperate after total knee replacement surgery? Eilat of course! Well at least that’s where Tony Abraham, 67, of Stanmore, Leslie Collin, 54, of Edgware and Mrs Vivian Feather, 55, of Finchley, chose to spend a few weeks soaking up the sun in the Red Sea resort following the recent successful surgery on their respective joints, by consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Aresh Hashemi-Nejad, at the Bupa Hospital, Bushey.
By sheer coincidence all three stayed at the same Eilat hotel, the Royal Beach, and met up as they relaxed by the pool where they discovered the connection. It led to an impromptu knobbly knee contest taking place as the three showed off the souvenirs of their surgery.
Tony’s wife, Ruth, 63, who works in Bupa Bushey’s pathology department said: “We all saw the funny side of it. It was such an unbelievable coincidence and people at Bushey haven’t stopped laughing since we told them. It was great PR for Aresh!”
