Bupa get set for an evening of rock and roll!

7 November 2007

Manchester has traditionally been home to some of the most ground-breaking young musical talent in the UK. Now you can show your support for a band of the future, and raise money to help educate children from a slum area of India at the same time.

For just £3 per person, you can hear a performance by local band The Blame as well as a treat from an Elvis 'tribute artist' Mr 'Love me' Turner. The event takes place at Tiger Tiger, The Printworks, Manchester on Wednesday 21 November from 7pm. All funds raised will be sent directly to the school in India.

In June this year, 10 of Bupa UK Health Insurance's employees travelled to the heart of bustling Jaipur; home to some of the most impoverished slums in India. The 10 volunteers tackled everything from teaching English to the local children to constructing roofing to provide extra classroom space in the school. The team also shared their management expertise to help improve local business prospects.

Following this visit, the team committed to raise a minimum of £1,000 to send to the project to pay for the rent at the school for a year. The money raised from the evening will allow 75 children to attend daily without having to pay a monthly fee.

Anyone wishing to attend the event can contact Louise Hanlon on 07712 789051 for more details.
