Hall Steads welcomes its residents back home

Hall Steads Residential and Nursing Home in Barnsley is throwing a party to welcome its residents back home after they were forced out by the recent flooding.
Residents will be stepping back into their newly refurbished home which was damaged by storm water in late June. After studying the damage from the floods Bupa bosses decided to give the units a complete makeover by refurbishing them both from top to bottom.
The sparkling new units will be all ready for inspection by the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnsley, Councillor Len Picken and Mrs Janet Henson who will officially re-open them on Friday 21st September. To support the re-opening there will be an afternoon full of activities including a comedy magician and singer, with local Priest Father Peter also giving his blessing to the two units.
Home manager Jenny Firth said: "We're very excited to have our residents back home in such a lovely newly-decorated environment. It's been a trying time for everyone and I'd like to thank all the staff, residents and their families for all their support in recent weeks. But the end result is really great and we would like to invite everyone in the local community to share it with us on the official opening day."
Hall Steads offers specialist care for the elderly, each with units specialising in providing high-quality nursing, residential and dementia care.
Staff at the home would also like to welcome local health professionals to come along to view the refurbished accommodation as well as to see the high standards of care and comfort that is available to local elderly people entering residential accommodation.
