Woodend nursing centre welcomes locals to annual summer fete
Residents and staff at Bupa’s Woodend Nursing Centre in Altrincham are getting set to welcome the local community to their annual summer fete on Saturday 20 June 2008, with entertainment including a live brass band.
Local MP, Mr Graham Brady, will also be joining in the fun at the fete and will be taking the chance to see Woodend’s newly refurbished interior, following a major investment of almost £600,000 by Bupa.
Thanks to the refurbishment programme at the care home, the majority of bedrooms have now been redecorated with new carpets, curtains and furniture. The reception area has also been revamped with new décor and furniture providing a warm welcome to all guests to the home.
The new look at Woodend is part of Bupa’s drive to improve standards in the care home sector for the benefit of older people, and is already proving a real hit with the residents at the home.
Home manager, Neil Hooley said, “The residents and staff at Woodend are really looking forward to welcoming local visitors to the home, not only to enjoy the entertainment in the sensory garden but also to see our new look.”
Anyone wishing to visit Woodend on Saturday for the summer fete can contact the home directly on 0161 929 5127 for more information.
