Bupa International appoints new regional development manager
16 June 2005
Paul Weigall has been appointed regional development manager of Brighton-based Bupa International, the world’s largest expatriate health insurer with almost 300,000 customers based in 180 countries.
Paul joined Bupa in November 2000 as a hospital contracts manager, based in Staines, and was latterly responsible for managing relationships with consultants. Prior to joining Bupa he worked in the banking and finance sector for both Natwest and Lombard North Central.
Speaking of his new appointment Paul said, "As well as ensuring the growth of the existing business, my role will involve developing a strategy for Bupa International to become a leading healthcare provider in new markets where there are large levels of expatriates and high net worth individuals seeking a high quality level of cover."
Bupa International recently won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, one of the UK’s most prestigious accolades for business performance. The award recognised Bupa International’s outstanding achievement in international trade over a six-year period. It is the second time the company has won a Queen’s Award, having previously been recognised in 1999 for export achievement.
