Health and care company renews sponsorship

A deal has been signed by Bupa, the health and care organisation, to renew its sponsorship of the Great Run Series for a further five years until 2009. The continued sponsorship with Nova International includes the Bupa Great North Run, the world’s biggest half-marathon celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Bupa Great South Run, the Bupa Great Manchester Run and the Bupa Great Caledonian Run.
Simon Sheard, Bupa’s marketing director, said: “Bupa is committed to contributing to the health of the nation. We’ve sponsored the Great Run Series for the last 12 years and we’re delighted to renew for a further five. The sponsorship is a great fit with our brand positioning of making people ‘feel better’ and will enable us to reinforce our health and medical credentials.
“The Bupa Great Run Series is a great way to support others through raising money for charity and in 2004 it raised a grand total of £8 million. This is the fifth year that Leukaemia Research has been our nominated charity and we aim to help them raise a significant amount of money.”

The marketing team at Bupa will support the sponsorship through press, radio, TV, poster and online promotions.
