Bupa named as UK superbrand for third consecutive year
21 July 2006
Bupa has been voted one of Britain’s strongest brands by the UK’s leading figures in branding and marketing. Bupa joins other iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, Virgin Atlantic and Starbucks, all voted Superbrands by consumers and experts on the independent Superbrands council.
Simon Sheard, Bupa’s group marketing director said, “We are delighted to have been selected as a Superbrand for the third year running. Bupa has always believed its brand is one of its most important assets and an expression of the organisation’s vision to deliver quality health and care and clinical excellence.
“Customer care is at the heart of everything Bupa does. We are committed to taking care of the lives in our hands and to helping people feel better. We have worked hard to create a brand that is trusted and respected and the fact that we have been awarded Superbrand status by a panel of experts and by consumers is a reflection of that.”
Founded in 1947, Bupa is the UK market leader in health and care with a strong international presence. Its main interests are health insurance, hospitals, care homes for older people and young disabled, health assessments, workplace health and childcare services.
Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of Superbrands Council commented: “BUPA has continued to grow and develop as the leading healthcare brand. Its core values have ensured that it is trusted and respected by consumers throughout the UK and Bupa thoroughly deserves again this year to be awarded the elite Superbrand accolade.”
