Bupa finance team complete community challenge four times over

Cavendish Primary School, Withington, Manchester recently received a makeover thanks to local Bupa employees who donned their dungarees to help improve the standard of the school’s outdoor learning and playground facilities.
The initiative formed part of an extended series of activities, which saw over 115 employees from Bupa Health Insurance’s finance team undertake simultaneous makeover style challenges in different locations around Manchester. The ambitious community project involved two primary schools, a hospice and a spread of allotments in the local area.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work, the schools can now look forward to making the most of redesigned and freshly painted outdoor areas, which should help make learning and playtime much more fun. Meanwhile, Bupa staff also helped re-organise, tidy and paint the hospice warehouse and shop. The allotments were also cleared and spruced up.
Bupa team-member Heidi Pickup commented on the success of the day: "The teamwork was fantastic. To undergo four challenges at the same time on the same day was a great accomplishment, the impact the team have had is immeasurable. We are all so pleased to have achieved such a fantastic end result."
This activity day forms part of Bupa’s corporate social responsibility programme of initiatives which focuses on providing help and support to the local communities in which Bupa employees live and work.
Bupa’s Health Insurance teams in Manchester have initiated numerous community based projects in this year alone. For example, they contributed to the record breaking Comic Relief Red Nose Day appeal by staffing several of the telephone lines for television viewers to make charitable pledges. In addition, they supported students in local schools when writing CV’s and preparing for interviews in connection with the charity Young Enterprise.
